    The Unit European Union Law is integrated in the public law domain and is focused on the analysis of the EU integration process as well as introductrory aspects of the EU law such as sources of law and institutional processes, but also specific regimes namely Common Foreign and security policy and European Citizenship and human rights. It adopts an interdisciplinary approach and a multi-level analysis articulating EU, national and sub-national levels..On the other hand, the Unit aims at granting students with capabilities to think critically about the EU integration and future prospects.both for EU Members States and citizens.

    Analyse the dynamics of the process of European integration, the paradigms and the nature of the EU as an intrernational organization. Acquire knowledge about the sources and principles of EU Law and the processes of proiduction of norms in a multilevel regulation Stimulate a greater articulation and interaction between the normative dimension of EU Law and the EU policies with reference to CFSP and Defence Policy, and European Citizenship/human rights. Acquire knowledge about the EU judicial system and jurisprudence. Develop capabilitiies of reflection and critical thinking about the role and prospects of evolution of the EU

    The theoretical presentation of the main themes mentioned in the syllabus is combined with the analysis of jurisprudence cases and the elaboration of reasearch on case studies, namely in relation to EU Citizenship and Common Foreign and Security Policy. whose results will be presented in class. The organisation of debates with the active participation of students will be carried out as well as the use of audio-visual methodologies, including the viewing and discussion of relevant videos. Continuous evaluation consists of 2 written tests, a commentary of a EU jurisprudence case..
