ISMAT Participates in Program to Promote Well-Being in Social Protection Teams in Cape Verde

Professor André Tavares Rodrigues, lecturer and director of ISMAT's Master's in Work and Occupational Health Psychology, was part of the training team for the initiative.
Last Friday, February 21, the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA) held the closing ceremony of the second phase of the Promoting Psychological Well-Being in Social Protection Teams program in Cape Verde at the VIP Praia Hotel.
Developed in partnership with Portugal's Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT), the program aimed to train professionals in the field of social protection, promoting psychological well-being and the quality of services provided to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.
During this second phase, which took place between February 18 and 21, key topics were covered, such as the prevention of stress at work, the importance of health and happiness in the professional environment, the warning signs of burnout and strategies to promote psychological well-being.
The training brought together technicians from various islands of the country and, over the two phases, totaled 56 hours of activities, distributed between theoretical content and practical experiences, held at the Children's Emergency Centre, the Lém Cachorro Social Protection Centre and the VIP Praia Hotel
The closing ceremony was attended by various entities, including the Secretary of State for Social Inclusion, Dr. Lídia Lima, the President of ICCA, Dr. Zaida Freitas, the Deputy Resident Representative of UNICEF, Dr. Anna Chyzhkova, the trainer Professor André Tavares Rodrigues, and representatives of partner institutions.
At the event, certificates were handed out to the trainees, followed by speeches highlighting the importance of the program for strengthening social protection in Cape Verde.
