Study on happiness at work using the PERMA model is part of the book ‘Perspectives on Happiness’, coordinated by Jorge Humberto Dias

The lecturers at the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Higher Institute (ISMAT), Patrícia Araújo and Lígia Nascimento, in collaboration with other researchers, published a chapter in the book ‘Perspectives on Happiness. Contributions for Portugal in the World Happiness Report (UN) - Vol. 5’, launched in 2024.

The chapter, entitled ‘Being Happy, Being Satisfied: An Investigation Using the PERMA Model in an Industry in Portugal’, presents the results of a field study conducted as part of researcher Cláudia Baptista's master's degree. The research is based on the PERMA model, a benchmark widely used to measure and understand the factors that contribute to well-being and happiness.

The book, now in its fifth volume, is coordinated by Professor Jorge Humberto Dias, a lecturer and researcher in the field of happiness in Portugal, and a member of the International University Happiness Network. The book brings together various investigations into happiness in Portugal and its impact in the context of the United Nations World Happiness Report.

The publication is available in open access at this link, allowing readers and researchers to explore the contributions presented in this volume.
