The teachers' study is about the 2022 World Cup and has been published in a scientific journal
A scientific study carried out by teachers from the Sports Sciences Degree was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Human Kinetics, one of the most prestigious scientific journals dedicated to the study of human movement and sports performance.
The article, entitled ‘Impact of situational variables on goal-scoring offensive sequences in the 2022 FIFA World Cup’, analyses situational variables that influence offensive plays that result in goals during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, held in Qatar.
This study is part of the work carried out by GIFUTISMAT - ISMAT's Football and Futsal Research and Training Group, consolidating the institute's commitment to producing scientific knowledge in the field of sport.
The article is authored by a group of specialists linked to ISMAT, Master Carlos Almeida, Prof Dr Pedro Vargas, Master Ricardo Gonçalves, Master Zé and Prof Dr Rui Batalau.
In addition to these researchers, the working group also included Professor Paulo Paixão from the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, reinforcing the collaboration between academic institutions in the production of scientific knowledge applied to football.
